Chris doesn’t like to talk about himself. He’d rather listen to guests tell stories or take in the sounds of the river as he navigates the rapids. As part of the Porter family, he grew up on the Middle Fork, which makes him an excellent guide on this river.

One place you can get Chris to talk is around the campfire. He’ll tell you how wearing life jackets messed up the Porter boys’ perfect tans in the 80’s.
