As part of the Porter family, Tyler is no stranger to rafting. He has continued the family tradition of sharing the beautiful Middle Fork with countless people. He loves the challenge of making sure all guests are comfortable and happy in one of the most remote areas in the Northwest.

THIS ONE TIME

A prankster at heart, Tyler once conspired with the lead guide to drop him five miles out of town prior to meeting guests. When the bus reached the five-mile mark, they pulled over, stating that the employee they were picking up was reclusive. The lead guide blew on a conch shell, and up sprang Tyler from behind a bush, running towards the bus in nothing but a loin cloth. That’s one way to make a first impression!

IN HIS OTHER LIFE

When he’s not on the river, Tyler’s in the office working as a loan originator. If that’s not the furthest thing from being a guide, we don’t know what is. Let’s hope he wears more than a loin cloth there.
